Font Effects 1
(this tutorial was created in psp 7)
The amount of effects you can do with fonts are limitless. Here are just a few.
The following are just some examples.
Check the font so it's applied as a vector layer (that just means you can manipulate it and change the size if you want, but stretching it etc) and that you have it checked to antialias. This smooths the
edges of your text so they don't look all jaggard, so when you apply the font in psp your settings should be like the following:

The points on and around the font show you where it can be stretched from, moved and rotated as shown on the following image:

For the purpose of this tutorial, I will apply a dropshadow to the font, but first you must convert the font layer to a raster layer. You can do that by clicking on
Layers > Convert to Raster Layer
as shown here:

You can find the dropshadow in the
Effects > 3d Effects > dropshadow and it looks like this:

With the
vertical and horizontal settings set to 1, and the opacity set to 100, you get the first effect shown here. With the
vertical and horizontal settings set to 5 and the opacity dropped
to 50% you get the 2nd result.

You can play around with the settings till you get it however you like it, there is no specific way it should be used.
