Font Effects 2

The purpose of this tutorial is to show you how to drop the opacity of a font and blend it into an image.

For this purpose we will be using an image, not a blank canvas.

Apply the font as per Font Effects 1 tut., so your settings should be like the following:



Convert the font layer to a raster layer, and add a dropshadow to the image (pick a setting you like for that).

Click on Layers > Properties, it should look like this:



You will then get a popup that looks like this:



You can adjust the opacity and the different blend types to achieve whatever effect you like.

Here I have used the same font and same colour, all I have changed is the blend mode and the opacity.



No other tools or filters were used, just a white font and the blend modes in the layer properties.

Again you can play around with the settings till you get it however you like it, there is no specific way it should be used.
